2x Shambhavi - Day 4 Namaskaram! I'm so happy to be on a consistent day 4 of Shambhavi! I just finished my practice and I felt a hint of Ushna while doing it! This is it... I'm back on track! Today I woke up with a call from Jazmeen. She said that she got a divorce from her marriage and she didn't know what to do next. I told her that she has to plan to make her future the way she wants to make it. Then I hung up, took a nap and did my first Shambhavi. Then I went to get a poutine form Marcus at his hot dog stand. We talked for a bit and then he said he'd see me tomorrow, but I don't think I'll be there tomorrow. I'm going to try this salmon and fish diet and see how far it takes me. After that I came home and called Daniel to catch up and see how he was doing because he's been sick these past few weeks. After that I called Lad to borrow $75. Then I watched some of Survivor and did my Shambhavi. The plan is to eat some salmon with fish and then head to the gym for a night session. After that I'll come home and do my first Shambhavi of the day. Recapping the day is so long LOL. There's not much going on right now. The next step is to lose some weight and get back on Hinge + learn Shoonya from Isha Tennessee. We'll see how long this takes. I'm just happy to be on Day 5 coming of Shambhavi XD! Namaskaram!

An emptiness that's fulfilling - my experience with the isha shoonya program
An emptiness that’s fulfilling – my experience with the isha shoonya program
Over the last four days, I had the opportunity to attend the shoonya intensive programme at the isha ashram in coimbatore.
Intensiveis the right word – indeed it’s the first thing that strikes you about the program. Right from the consecrated hall which sends out intense vibes, the format of the program which makes sure that every minute is accounted for effectively, and the very wise…

Meditation increases the entropy of brain oscillatory activity.
PMID:  Neuroscience. 2020 Feb 4. Epub 2020 Feb 4. PMID: 32032666 Abstract Title:  Meditation Increases the Entropy of Brain Oscillatory Activity. Abstract:  We address the hypothesis that the entropy of neural dynamics indexes the intensity and quality of conscious content. Previous work established that serotonergic psychedelics can have a dysregulating effect on brain activity, leading to subjective effects that present a considerable overlap with the phenomenology of certain meditative states. Here we propose that the prolonged practice of meditation results in endogenous increased entropy of brain oscillatory activity. We estimated the entropy of band-specific oscillations during the meditative state of traditions classified as 'focused attention' (Himalayan Yoga), 'open monitoring' (Vipassana), and 'open awareness' (Isha Shoonya Yoga). Among all traditions, Vipassana resulted in the highest entropy increases, predominantly in the alpha and low/high gamma bands. In agreement with previous studies, all meditation traditions increased the global coherence in the gamma band, but also stabilized gamma-range dynamics by lowering the metastability. Finally, machine learning classifiers could successfully generalize between certain pairs of meditation traditions based on the scalp distribution of gamma band entropies. Our results extend previous findings on the spectral changes observed during meditation, showing how long-term practice can lead to the capacity for achieving brain states of high entropy. This constitutes an example of an endogenous, self-induced high entropy state.

Wohi shoonya hai wahi ikai .. Tou bolo har har har
Adi Shankaracharya - jiske bheetar basa Shiva hai Started the sanyasi way of life at 8yrs.. by 16yrs wrote around 300 works on Vedas, Upanishads, Brahmasutras, Gita, etc.. toured the length & breadth of India unifying Sanatan Dharma through Advaita philosophy & establishing religious wisdom centers (Mathas) before completing life on earth at age 32yrs.. Role models anybody?
Advaita simplified: innumerable living beings, but all of us separate beings have the one divine in us. Matlab udharan ke liye.. there is infinite space.. which confined in a room is defined as room space.. which in turn inside an empty vessel in the room is defined as the vessel space. Similarly, we are separate souls in separate beings.. but we are all part/together as & off the ‘One’. Advaita is the awareness of this divine. Shankaracharya ji made it easy for us to become 'truly aware’.. by making guidelines for Bhakti, Yog and Karma to enlighten the intellect and purify the heart.
Now let me confuse you thoda sa.. plz: According to my humble mind.. there are 4 things.. 1) things that we know that we know (like our families & friends); 2) things that we know that we don’t know (like a stranger who lives in a different country); 3) things that we don’t know that we know (like the reality of our true identity - our soul); 4) things that we don’t know that we don’t know (I can’t give you an example coz I simply don’t know what I don’t know.. but perhaps it is something similar to.. the knowledge which Bhagavate Vasudevaya has.. which our senses & chitta cannot comprehend, as we simply don’t have the resources in this existence as human beings to understand it). Similarly Shankaracharya ji’s philosophy is based on three levels of reality.. Paramarthika Satta Satya (Brahman.. the supreme divine), Vyavaharika Satya (empirical world of beings and non-beings) and Pratibhashika Satya (actual reality).
Shankaracharya ji is a true 'Guru’.. a guru who empties our minds.. completely opposite to a 'teacher’ who fills up our brains with things.. making it difficult with an occupied mind then to comprehend Bhakti & Yog.. those things which help us in our journeys to realize the divine. As Jaggi Vasudevji (ISHA) says.. this perhaps is also the biggest difference between the education received at a school in contrast to that in a Gurukul from a Guru. Many of us are less fortunate to not have received wisdom from a 'Guru’.. but as Shankaracharya ji has shown us.. age is no barrier.. young or old.. it’s never too early or too late to know 'that gyan’ which actually matters. Guru devo bhava.
#ManishBhutada for those of us who think we have achieved a lot.. are inspiration to others.. and so on.. who are we kidding, SERIOUSLY?
